Kelly vs the TSA – Don’t Strip Our Rights (Official Video)

Featured

Thank you to Beau Davis of Keene for creating such a great video of the demonstration I participated in at the Manchester airport last Friday.

I plan to return to the Manch airport next Thursday, Feb. 2 to do it again…this time with a surprise guest ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here is the text to the TSA outreach literature that I was handing out.

Don’t Strip Our Rights

Lenore Zimmerman, of Long Island, was en route to Florida on Nov. 29 when she said she was moved to a private room and forced to remove her clothes by TSA officials. She alleged she wanted to be patted down rather than go through a body scanner because she feared it would interfere with her defibrillator.

โ€œI walk with a walker โ€” I really look like a terrorist,โ€ she told the Daily News. โ€œIโ€™m tiny. I weigh 110 pounds, 107 without clothes, and I was strip-searched.โ€

Zimmerman says she was also left bleeding in the process after banging her leg against a walker. She said the two female TSA agents showed no sympathy and simply continued with the invasive body search. โ€œMy sock was soaked with blood,โ€ the retired receptionist added. โ€œI was bleeding like a pig.โ€

Bruce Zimmerman, who dropped his mother at the airport prior to the incident, was left fuming. โ€œMy mother is a little old woman. Sheโ€™s not disruptive or uncooperative,โ€ he said, according to MSNBC. โ€œI donโ€™t understand how this happened.โ€

Linda Kallish, a 66-year-old diabetic, claims she too was strip-searched at JFK on Nov. 29. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Kallish, who was bound for Ft. Lauderdale via Jet Blue on a 1 p.m. flight, had a glucose monitor that checks her blood sugar every five minutes strapped to one leg and an insulin pump strapped to the other. A female TSA officer allegedly asked her into a private room after setting off the metal detector. Kallish says she was ordered to remove her pants in order to demonstrate both devices.

Ruth Sherman, an 88-year-old frequent flier with JetBlue, has flown from New York to Florida many times, but never has she been taken aside and asked to pull her pants down and show her colostomy bag, as she asserts occurred at Kennedy Airport recently.

Sherman, who was returning home Nov. 28 after celebrating Thanksgiving with family in New York, said her initial X-ray screening apparently showed a bulge from her colostomy bag on the side of her body. Screeners then pulled her aside and gave her a pat-down with their hands, including touching her on her legs and her torso near her breasts and around her arms, she said.

That triggered the screeners to order yet another level of search.

โ€œIt was awful,โ€ Sherman told msnbc.com from her home in Sunrise, Fla. โ€œThey asked me to come into another room. I said โ€˜Donโ€™t touch me โ€” you have dirty hands.โ€™ I had on plain sweatpants and a top. They made me pull my sweatpants down with my underwear. They invaded my privacy.

DOES THE FACT THAT SICK ELDERLY LADIES ARE BEING TREATED AS THOUGH THEY ARE LESS THAN HUMAN BOTHER YOU? IT SHOULD!

Every year, the TSA violates the natural rights of thousands of American citizens.

They claim it is for our own good (“to keep us safe”) and leave us with a choice between complying with their arbitrary rules or foregoing air travel altogether.

The ability to travel freely is a right, not a privilege. No individual should have to give up their basic right to human dignity in order to travel freely.

What happened to Lenore Zimmerman, Linda Kallish, and Ruth Sherman could happen to anyone. That could be your wife, your mother, your sister, your grandmother. That could be YOU!!!

The violation of one individual’s rights equals the violation of ALL individual rights, and I do NOT consent.

Do NOT allow the TSA, backed by the federal government, to take away your inalienable rights. That means the rights you were granted as your birthright by your very own nature as a human being!

The violation of such basic human rights is IMMORAL and the only way we can fix this is for all of us, as a people, to unite against tyranny.

Fight tyranny. Join the peaceful evolution.

โ€œWhy do you allow these men who are in power to rob you step by step, openly and in secret, of one domain of your rights after another, until one day nothing, nothing at all will be left but a mechanised state system presided over by criminals and drunks? Is your spirit already so crushed by abuse that you forget it is your right โ€“ or rather, your moral duty โ€“ to eliminate this system?โ€ -From Leaflet 3 of the White Rose Society; anti-establishment activists in Nazi Germany, circa 1943)
